for individual loss, that is they are custom made

John's provides the entire Starkey line of hearing
instruments.
Completely-In-The-Canal
(CIC)
The Tympanette is Starkey's smallest and most discreet
instrument. It is designed to fit entirely in the
ear making it virtually invisible, and its size
may help eliminate feedback and offers superior
sound solutions for the active individual. Other
ranges include Doviri.
In-The-Canal
(ITC)
An ITC aid rests more deeply within the ear canal.
Starkey's most popular hearing instrument maximises
the ear's sound gathering design in a convenient
size. ITC instruments offer the right combination
of appearance and affordibility to meet a variety
of hearing losses. The ITC range includes Sirrus,
Sequel and DiRx.
In-The-Ear
(ITE)
An ITE sits neatly inside the ear canal. Starkey's
most flexible hearing instrument allows for a variety
of performance options that would have previously
required a larger instrument.
Sirrus,
Sequel and DiRx are some of the most popular custom
made products. The Sirrus programmable covers losses
up to severe. Sequel analogue products provide exceptionally
low distortion, delivering a clean, crisp sound.
Both Sirrus and Sequel are available in all custom
styles.
Behind-The-Ear
(BTE)
BTE hearing aids rest behind the ear. Starkey's
BTE instruments are manufactured to exacting specifications
featuring DigiMold, and
are designed to fit the full range of hearing impairments
from mild to profound.
Ranges
include Doviri and Aries
II - BTE Digital products covering up to severe
losses. Coming soon is the Doviri Power BTE for
profound losses.
Aries II
The
inner ear is extraordinarily sensitive to
the tiniest differences in sound loudness
and pitch. To recreate this, Aries II digital
sound processor divides incoming sounds into
more narrower sounds - nine in all - each
with its own very precise adjustment capabilities.
The
nine channels work with circuitry that reacts
instantaneously to sudden changes in sound
levels and an exclusive technology to prevent
over-amplification of soft sounds and noise
in quiet surroundings. Aries II provides a
more realistic and natural sound quality.
Unlike
some digital aids, wearing Aries II doesn't
mean sacrificing discreet appearances. Thanks
to advances in Starkey design and manufacturing,
Aries II is available in all sizes - including
the virtually invisible CIC.

Doviri
Containing
the latest breakthroughs in Digital hearing
science, Doviri is designed and engineered
to help you rediscover the joy of hearing.
Utilising the most advanced, 100% digital
signal processing (DSP) design, Doviri preserves
and delivers an increased dynamic range in
both high and low ranges.
What's
more, Doviri is the only fully programmable
digital hearing system that offers both a
custom filter system with truly independent
multi-channel compression. Because of the
way your instruments respond to low and high
frequency sounds, loud sounds are less likely
to become uncomfortable while soft sounds
can be understood.
Doviri
also features a multi step feedback management
algorithm which first senses the probability
of feedback before it can begin forming. Sophisticated
filtration is then automatically programmed
into your instrument to prevent feedback's
onset - even if volume is increased.

DigiMold
The
fitting of your digital BTE is important -
why compromise your fitting with inadequate
earmoulds?
Thankfully,
DigiMold, the new digital friendly earmould
is now available. Blending supreme comfort
and superior acoustic coupling properties,
each DigiMold is handcrafted to discreetly
blend with the users ear.
The
precisely sculptured nature of DigiMold significantly
reduces the necessity of activating any on-board
feedback management algorithm, thereby improving
speech recognition by preserving necessary
sound cues.
DigiMold
is a partnership between clinicians and the
Starkey Earmould Facilities. Clinicians must
follow a well defined, disciplined approach
to securing an accurate replica of the patients'
ear together with a thorough audiogram. Once
this is achieved, Starkey have perfected a
process of earmould manufacture, that guarantees
an appropriate fitting earpiece with built-in
flexibility for fine tuning of the hearing
instrument complimentary to the fitting software.
DigiMold
may be applied with any make of commercial
digital BTE, or for that matter, any BTE digital
or analogue. Starkey also apply DigiMold techniques
to custom made-in-the-ear products.

DiRx
A
common complaint of many hearing aid users
is the inability to understand speech in a
noisy environment. Currently the only solution
to this problem is to improve the signal-to-noise
ratio (SNR) available to the user. Directional
technology is the single most effective strategy
available to improve speech recognition in
noise and reverberation by emphasising sounds
in the forward direction more than sounds
from the sides and behind. In other words,
improving the SNR.
DiRx
is the first dual-microphone system engineered
for custom full-shell and half-shell hearing
instruments. The smaller, flexible design
of DiRx incorporates two matched omnidirectional
microphones in conjunction with Digitally
Optimized Directionality. The two microphones
are digitally tuned to match the microphone
circuitry of each pair, providing optimal
directivity for each DiRx system. This means
the user will benefit from the improvement
in directionality without compromising gain
or sound quality.
Having
the ability to switch between the omni-Directional
and directional modes is highly desirable
due to the wide array of listening situations.
The omnidirectional mode may be required when
the user needs to hear from behind, and is
also more appropriate for quiet environments
due to a greater reduction in circuit noise.

Sequel

The intricate shape of your outer ears act
